Upon Arrival
NU Car Rentals service is provided in cooperation with Allsave Car Rental at Maui Kahului Airport. DO NOT take the green train/ tram across the street from baggage claim to our shuttle. After retrieving luggage exit baggage claim, walk to your right past restrooms to shuttle pick-up area. Look for Allsave Car Rental - NU Car Rentals shuttle which comes by every 15 minutes during office hours. Should you need to contact us please call 808-868-0071 and we will be glad to assist you. Out of hours service is available with at least 24hrs advance notice for 65 USD to return the vehicle at the airport or have the rental car at the airport upon your arrival The rental contract must be signed and received by Allsave 3 business days in advance of the rental date. During office hours we hold your vehicle up to 2 hours after the arrival time on your reservation. 24 hour returns are available daily.
Insurance Excess and Deposit
SECURITY DEPOSIT: A security deposit will be held at the start of the rental. It will include the estimated amount of the rental plus a deposit.The deposit amount will vary between 300USD and 3000USD depending on the duration of rental. Local renters will have a deposit of 500USD to 3000USD also depending on the duration of rental. EXCESS: The renter is responsible for all damage or loss to the rental vehicle.This responsibility may be reduced or eliminated. For additional information please inquire at our rental counter.
Special Equipment
We offer the following additional equipment - Child infant or toddler seats - please specify -3.95USD per day Beach chair or beach cooler 3.50USD per day each Please request in advance or ask at the counter. Additional fees and surcharges are taxable.
Fuel
All vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as when rented. Discounted prepaid fuel is available. There are no refunds for unused fuel. Refueling fee is 1.25USD plus the Market rate per gallon printed on your contract.
One Ways
One way drops between Kuluhui and Kihei are 25.00USD. Drops in the Kihei hotel area is 35.00USD. Requires advance notice. Free customer pick up and drop off are offered in Lihue within a 5 mile radius of our office. Outside of Lihue drop or pick up 150.00USD depending on distance and requires 24 hour advance notice..
Geographic Information
NO Off-road driving is allowed. This includes all non-paved and non-county roads and the back road to Hana for Maui renters. Driving off-road will void CDW.
Drivers Requirements
All drivers must present their valid drivers license at the time of rental. International drivers licenses are accepted. The minimum age to rent is 18 years. Drivers 18-24 yrs pay an underage driver fee of 19.95USD per day. Ages 18-21 must provide proof of full coverage insurance, a valid credit card in his or her own name and a 500.00USD deposit on selected models only. There is no charge for your Spouse as an additional driver. All other additional drivers pay an additional driver fee of 5.95USD per day.
Credit Card Guarantees
If you have reserved a pay on arrival rental, a credit card guarantee is required in order to reserve a vehicle. This credit card will be validated at the time of reservation and may show a 1.00USD temporary authorization on your credit card statement. However, no actual guarantee fee will be incurred unless the Customer is a No Show; in which case a No Show fee equivalent to a one day rental or a minimum of 50.00USD will be charged to the credit card provided as a guarantee. If your plans change you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same site on which you made your reservation at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. If you reserved a Prepaid (Pay Now) reservation, you will be charged a Booking Fee equivalent to the total charges of your reservation. The Credit Card used for prepayment MUST be presented at the rental counter at time of pick up. This is a non-refundable reservation and may not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or a credit.
Inclusive Rates
Should you purchase an Inclusive Rate Package please note that Collision and Theft waivers and state required liability as well as taxes and fees are included in your rate. You will be responsible for any coverage excess as listed under Insurance or Damage Waiver and exceeding liability limits. Not included in your rate is the Fuel, Underage Drivers Fee, Additional Drivers Fee and special Equipment such as baby seats. GPS or cell phones any additional coverage or any other option.
Credit and Debit
Renter drivers license and credit-debit card must be in the same name. Payment -unless you have a prepaid reservation- plus your deposit or credit card authorization are collected at the time of pick up. We accept Visa MC AX Discover Diners Club. The deposit for credit card users is 150.00USD and for Debit card or cash users it is 300.00USD or 500USD if local plus must provide proof of full coverage insurance on.your vehicle. Cash and debit card users must also provide proof of your address if you are local or proof of an airline ticket if visiting. For all renters the drivers license and credit or debit card plus additional documents required must be in your own name. Your rental vehicle should be returned in the same condition as it was rented. All our vehicles are non-smoking vehicles. The minimum detail fee is 150.00US if the odor of smoke or cigarette burns are detected. Vehicles returned excessively muddy or sandy will have a minimum detail fee of 80.00USD and the charge for lost or damaged keys is minimum of 250.00USD.

NU Car Rentals provides a car rental affiliate reservation system and acts as an agent for the convenience of you the customer and the local owned and operated car rental firm. We use reasonable commercial efforts to insure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other websites. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms, conditions and prevailing law covering the rental shall be those stated on the rental contract presented at the actual rental location.
Additional Information
If you booked a Pay Now Special rate you will be charged in US dollars a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the amount of the rental charges for the reserved period. Charges will appear on your statement as NU Car Rentals Website San Antonio, TX. Additional charges will be collected at rental in local currency A rental day consists of a 24 hour period. Changes to the reservation may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. There are no refunds for early returns. If After hours returns are permitted the renter will be billed to the start of the next business day and is responsible for the rental vehicle until inspected by a company representative. Please inquire at the rental counter for further details. Note there is no shuttle service available outside hours of operation Reservations for multiple vehicles must be made in different names or may not be honored. Smoking in vehicles or returning the vehicle where special cleaning may incur an additional fee per local policy. Makes and models are examples only and are not guaranteed.
