Upon arrival
NU Car Rentals service is provided in cooperation with Ross Rental Cars at the Johan Adolf Pengel International Airport in Paramaribo. Upon arrival please proceed to our rental counter located at booth number 37. We have 24 hour service available when flight details are included with your booking. If flight details were not included or arrival or departure changes occur please call us at 00 597-8568668 to arrange for service. Changes to your reservation may result in additional fees. Vehicles are held 2 hours after the arrival time on reservation.
Insurance
Collision Coverage and Theft Protection are required. Credit card coverage is secondary and you will be required to pay any damages or loss before your departure. You can apply for reimbursement from your credit card company. The excess for Collision Damage Waiver-CDW and Theft depends on vehicle class and is 500-1500USD. CDW per class is 9-14USD per day. Theft Protection is 1-5USD per day. If you do not purchase the CDW and TP the deposit is 500.00 to 1000USD depending on car category. Your responsibility is the total cost of damages or loss and expenses. These costs must be paid before your departure. It is prohibited to repair damages on our car yourself. Cars are insured at minimum liability requirements in Suriname. In case of accident call Ross Rental Road Services 00 5978568668. Ross Rental Road Services takes care of insurance matters. Ross Rental Road Services provides documents needed for claims that must be signed and delivered to our office within 24 hours of the accident or or CDW and TP will not cover you. In case of a lawsuit Suriname legislation will apply. In case of theft or joyiding. Call the police at 115 or our office.In the event of an accident When an unauthorized driver is driving the car the insurance becomes void and the registered renter is completely responsible for all direct and indirect costs.
Special Equipment
Baby toddler and Infant seats are available for 5.00USD per day up to 70.00USD per rental.
Fuel
All cars are provided with a full tank of fuel and should be returned with a full tank of fuel in order to avoid a locally determined refueling charge of 5.00USD per liter. This must be paid in cash or with a credit card.
One Ways
One ways are allowed between the Johan Pengel Intl Airport and our office at Downtown Paramaribo. A drop fee of 40.00-USD will be charged at the drop of the vehicle.
Geographic Restrict.
Our rental vehicles are not allowed to leave the country of Suriname. If you wish to drive the car to Guyana or French Guyana you must have written consent of Ross Rental Cars. When traveling to Guyana or French Guyana is allowed a special rental rate and insurance rate will apply. Vehicles can only be driven on paved roads. Driving off road is not allowed.
Driver Requirements
All drivers must present a valid Drivers License with a clean driving record. They must also present a major credit card in their own name with sufficient credit for any rental charges and the deposit. If their Drivers License is not in Roman alphabet they must also present a valid International License and their passport. Additional drivers must meet the same requirements as the primary driver. The additional driver surcharge is 5.00USD per day per driver. Drivers minimum age is 25 years.
Credit Card Guarantees
If you have reserved a pay on arrival rental, a credit card guarantee is required in order to reserve a vehicle. This credit card will be validated at the time of reservation and may show a 1.00USD temporary authorization on your credit card statement. However, no actual guarantee fee will be incurred unless the Customer is a No Show; in which case a No Show fee equivalent to a one day rental or a minimum of 50.00USD will be charged to the credit card provided as a guarantee. If your plans change you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same site on which you made your reservation at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. If you reserved a Prepaid (Pay Now) reservation, you will be charged a Booking Fee equivalent to the total charges of your reservation. The Credit Card used for prepayment MUST be presented at the rental counter at time of pick up. This is a non-refundable reservation and may not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or a credit.
Inclusive Rates
If you purchased an Inclusive Rate Package,please note that Minimum Liability Insurance Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Waiver as well as Taxes and Fees are included in your rate. You will remain responsible for the 500.00-1500USD deductible. Not included is Fuel and Special Equipment such as Baby seats and GPS or Additional driver Fees or any other available options.
Payment
We accept American Express Visa and Master Cards. A security deposit will be held at the start of the rental which will include the estimated rental charge plus 500.00USD for economy through standard size cars and 1000.00USD for all other vehicles Eligible Debit cards are accepted at the time of rental and must have a MasterCard or Visa logo. The estimated amount of rental plus the additional security amount of 500.00-1500.00USD is assessed against your debit card at the time of rental. These funds will no longer be available for your immediate use and may take up to 30 days - depending on your bank- to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned checks insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process. Debit card security for mini through intermediate is 500.00USD and all other vehicles have a 1500.00USD deposit. Cash is not accepted for qualification at the time of rental but may be used for payment upon return of the vehicle. A major Credit Card or Debit Card is still required to qualify. Vouchers and prepaid cards are not accepted. All fees and surcharges are taxable. Our cars are non-smoking vehicles. In case of smoking in the vehicle there is a 250.00USD charge. Excessive dirt in or outside the vehicle will incur a 10.00USD cleaning fee. In case of return later than agreed time the hourly rate will be charged up to the normal daily rate plus a fine of 15USD per day Early returns on rentals reserved through internet or GDS sites are non-refundable regardless of rental vehicle accidents during the rental, length of stay changes, family or pet illness or changes to business schedule. 24-7 technical service is available. If the technician should determine you are at fault you can be charged for this service at 42USD plus costs of repairs, such as new tire. Legal Notice
NU Car Rentals provides a car rental affiliate reservation system and acts as an agent for the convenience of you the customer and the local owned and operated car rental firm. We use reasonable commercial efforts to insure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other websites. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms, conditions and prevailing law covering the rental shall be those stated on the rental contract presented at the actual rental location.
Additional Information
If you booked a Pay Now Special rate you will be charged in US dollars a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the amount of the rental charges for the reserved period. Charges will appear on your statement as NU Car Rentals Website San Antonio, TX. Additional charges will be collected at rental in local currency A rental day consists of a 24 hour period. Changes to the reservation may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. There are no refunds for early returns. If After hours returns are permitted the renter will be billed to the start of the next business day and is responsible for the rental vehicle until inspected by a company representative. Note there is no shuttle service available outside hours of operation Reservations for multiple vehicles must be made in different names or may not be honored.
