Upon Arrival
Upon arrival at San Francisco International Airport please take the blue line of the Air train to the Car Rental Center where you will proceed to the ground floor and exit the building. After exiting turn left and you will find the Off Airport shuttle Pick Up area at Island 2. Our NU Car Rental complimentary shuttle will take you a short ride to our office. Our location is 1409 Rollins Rd. Burlingame, CA 94010. To contact us call 650-651-7145 or email us at cc@nucarrentals.us After hours drops are available at this location but there is no shuttle service after hours.We hold vehicles during office hours up to 2 hours after the arrival time of your reservation. See business hours section. As an option to reduce wait time from the airport to our counter you may prefer to use Uber or Lyft directly to our location at your own expense.
Insurance
The renter is responsible for all damage to the rental vehicle regardless of fault. Optional insurance is not required to rent a vehicle. Loss Damage Waiver-LDW allows renter to not be held financially responsible for loss or damage to the rental vehicle when used in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement. LDW is $24.99US per day. Limited Loss Damage Waiver LLDW allows the renter to not be held finanially responsible for loss or damage to the rental vehicle for up to $2,000 USD only, any damageor loss more than $2,000 USD will be the responsability of the renter.LLDW is $15.00 usd/day. California law requires all drivers to have a state legal level liability insurance while operating a motor vehicle. Renter must have proof of liability insurance at the time of rental. Supplemental Liabiity Insurance will provide $500K USD protection for third party claims. SLI is $8.22 USD/day. Roadside Assistance is $11.99US per day. All fees are plus tax.
Special Equipment
Child safety seats are available for $10.00 USD/day and GPSs are available for $9.99USD/day both based on availability and are not a guarantee. An Express Toll Package is available for $11.99 USD per day.If using Toll roads and failure to purchase a Toll package will leave you responsible for all tolls plus a $30.00USD admin fee for each toll violation. All fees are plus tax.Request at the rental counter or call for availability. Lost and found, Nu Car Rental is not responsible for lost or stole items. If you left a personal item in the rental vehicle, we highly recommend that you report your lost items at your earliest convenience,and we will do our best to locate it. The best option to report your lost item is to contact our Customer Care department at cc@nucarrentals.us Please reference your rental agreement number and an item description in your email. You can also call our Customer Care Dept at 702-462-2664 to report your lost item. Our policy is to hold items for 30 days if they are found in the vehicle or at the location. After 30 days items may be donated or disposed based on the locations available hold space or other factors.
Fuel
All cars are provided with a full tank of fuel and should be returned with a full tank of fuel in order to avoid a locally determined refueling charge. This charge will include the price of fuel as well as the service required to refuel the vehicle plus tax. Prepaid fuel options are available at a discount. Please inquire at the rental counter. Credit is not issued for unused fuel. Electric vehicles will follow the same principle, all electric vehicles should be returned with the same amount of charge as when rented to avoid a locally determined re-charging fee. This fee is calculated as if gasoline was in the vehicle based on the amount of charge needed for a full charge.The rental contract will list this charge as gallons of fuel.
One Way Rentals
One way drops are allowed between the following Nu Car Rentals locations: Las Vegas,San Francisco, Phoenix,Salt Lake City and Denver with prior approval and a drop fee.
Geographic Restrictions
Travel is allowed in the states of Nevada,California,Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Oregon. Violation of the geographic restrictions will result in being charged .20USD per mile for each mile driven during the entire duration of the rental period and wil void any coverages purchased. Vehicles are only allowed to be driven on paved roads and cannot be driven off terrain or on beaches, doing so will void all insurance coverages.
Driver Qualification
All Drivers must present a valid Drivers License as well as have a clean driving record and pass our digital driver license scanner.They must also present a major credit card in their own name at the time of rental.International renters, except for Canada must have a valid International Driver License, passport and pass our digital driver license scanner. They must also provide round trip flight information with the return flight being the same day of return to qualify. All rentals will be required to have a deposit on a major credit card. The deposit amount varies between $500-$3000USD depending on on the vehicle and duration of rental.Additional drivers MUST meet the same requirements as the renter and must on the contract at the time of rental.The additional driver fee is $11.99USD/day,there is no fee for spouse,child,sibling parent,grandparent,employer,or co-worker.If an unauthorized driver is driving the vehicle,we can charge twice the authorized driver fee per rental.All drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 may only rent ECAR CCAR SCAR FCAR IFAR SFAR FFAR -SUVS- and MVAR - minivan They may not rent Premium or Specialty vehicles. Young drivers 21-24 years are allowed to rent with an Underage Driver Fee of $25.00 USD/day otherwise, drivers must be between 25-80 years All fees are taxable.Local renters may only rent Compact Cars, Intermediate SUV's and Mini Vans.
Credit Card Guarantees
If you have reserved a pay on arrival rental, a credit card guarantee is required in order to reserve a vehicle. This credit card will be validated at the time of reservation and may show a 1.00USD temporary authorization on your credit card statement. However, no actual guarantee fee will be incurred unless the Customer is a No Show; in which case a No Show fee equivalent to a one day rental or a minimum of 50.00USD will be charged to the credit card provided as a guarantee. If your plans change you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same site on which you made your reservation at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. If you reserved a Prepaid (Pay Now) reservation, you will be charged a Booking Fee equivalent to the total charges of your reservation. The Credit Card used for prepayment MUST be presented at the rental counter at time of pick up. This is a non-refundable reservation and may not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or a credit.
Inclusive Rates
Should you purchase our Inclusive Rate Package please note our rate includes the Loss Damage Waiver, taxes and Fees. LDW has a zero excess or deductible. NOT included in your rate is the Fuel, Underage Drivers Fee, and special equipment such as Child sheets and GPS, as well as the Supplemental Liability Insurance or any other available option.
Credit/Debit Card Policy
We accept American Express Visa Master Card and Discover card A security deposit will be held at the start of the rental. It will include the estimated amount of the rental plus a deposit. The deposit amount will vary between 500.00USD and 3000.00USD depending on the type of vehicle and duration of rental. Local renters will have a deposit of 500 - 3000USD depending on car type and length of rental. These funds will no longer be available for immediate use and may take up to 30 days - depending on your bank - to become available. insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process. Debit Cards are NOT an accepted form of payment or qualification. Cash is not accepted for qualification at the time of rental but may be used for payment upon return of the vehicle. A major Credit Card is still required to qualify to rent. Vouchers and prepaid cards are not accepted. For all prepaid rentals - the person who prepaid for the rental must be present with the same credit card in his or her own name that was used to prepay the reservation in order to pick up the rental. There will be a deposit for prepaid rentals. All fees are plus tax.

NU Car Rentals provides a car rental affiliate reservation system and acts as an agent for the convenience of you the customer and the local owned and operated car rental firm. We use reasonable commercial efforts to insure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other websites. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms, conditions and prevailing law covering the rental shall be those stated on the rental contract presented at the actual rental location.
Additional Information
If you booked a Pay Now Special rate you will be charged in US dollars a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the amount of the rental charges for the reserved period. Charges will appear on your statement as NU Car Rentals Website San Antonio, TX. Additional charges will be collected at rental in local currency A rental day consists of a 24 hour period. Changes to the reservation may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. There are no refunds for early returns. If After hours returns are permitted the renter will be billed to the start of the next business day and is responsible for the rental vehicle until inspected by a company representative. Please inquire at the rental counter for further details. Note there is no shuttle service available outside hours of operation Reservations for multiple vehicles must be made in different names or may not be honored.
