Upon Arrival
Upon arrival at San Francisco International Airport please take the blue line of the Airtrain to the Car Rental Center where you will proceed to the ground floor and exit the building. After exiting turn left and you will find the Off Airport Shuttle Pick Up area at Island 2. Our NU Car Rental complimentary Mercedes Benz shuttle will take you a short ride to our office. If the shuttle is not waiting when you arrive please call us at 650-651-7145 for pick up service. After hours drops are available at this location but there is no shuttle after hours. We hold vehicles during offuce hours up to 2 hours after the arrival time of your reservation.
Insurance
The renter is responsible for all damage to the rental vehicle. Insurance from outside the U.S. is not accepted except Canada. Optional insurance is not required to rent a vehicle. Loss Damage Waiver-LDW allows renter to not be held financially responsible for loss or damage to the rental vehicle when used in accordance with the terms of the rental agreement. LDW is 23.99US per day plus tax. California law requires all drivers to have state legal level of liability insurance while operating a motor vehicle. Renter must have proof of liability insurance at the time of rental. Supplemental Liability Insurance- SLI - covers you for 3rd party liability up to 1 million USD for 14.99US per day plus tax. It covers bodily injury and/or property damage sustained while operating the rental vehicle. Glass-Tire Protection is available for 7.99US per day plus tax. Personal Accident Coverage - PAC - is 5.19US per day plus tax. Roadside Assistance is 7.99US per day plus tax. Lost and Found - Nu Car Rentals is not responsible for lost or stolen items. If you left a personal item in your rental vehicle we highly recommend that you report your lost items at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to find it. The best option to report your lost item is to contact our Customer Care department at cc@nucarrentals.us. Please reference your rental agreement number and an item description in your email. You can also call our Customer Care Dept at 702-462-2664 to report your lost item. Our policy is to hold items for 30 days if they are found in the vehicle or at a NU Car Rentals location. After 30days items may be donated or disposed of based on the locations available hold space or other factors.
Special Equipment
The following equipment is available upon request. CSI - Baby/Infant car seats - 10.00 USD/day CST - Child/Toddler car seats - 10.00 USD/day NAV - GPS - 9.99 USD/day Toll package - 11.99 USD/day at rental counter. All prices are plus tax. Request at the rental counter or call us for availability. If using Toll roads failure to purchase a Toll package will leave you responsible for all tolls plus a 30.00US admin surcharge for each toll violation.
Fuel
All vehicles should be returned with the same level of fuel as when rented in order to avoid a refueling charge of 12.99US per gallon. Prepaid fuel options are available - you may prepay the tank of fuel at .10US less per gallon than local market prices.
One Way Rentals
One way drops are allowed between our NU Car Rental locations in San Francisco, Las Vegas, Phoenix or Denver with prior approval and a drop fee.
Geographic Restrictions
Travel is allowed in California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Colorado only. Violation of the geographic restriction will result in being charged .20USD per mile for each mile driven during the entire duration of the rental period. Vehicles are only allowed to be driven on paved roads and cannot be driven off terrain or on beaches, doing so will void all insurance coverage.
Driver Qualification
All Drivers must present a valid Drivers License as well as a clean driving record. They must also present a major credit card in their own name at time of rental. International renters with the exception of Canada,must have a valid international drivers license and passport in order to qualify. The deposit amount will vary from 300-3000USD depending on the location and duration of the rental. Additional drivers must meet the same criteria as the primary driver and must be on the contract at the time of rental. The additional driver fee is 11.99USD/day. There is no fee for a spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, employer or co-worker. If an unauthorized driver is driving the vehicle we can charge twice the authorized driver fee per rental. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 will be charged an underage surcharge of $25.00 per day. Ages 21-24 may only rent Economy,Compact, Standard, or Fullsize cars or Standard, Intermediate or Fullsize SUVs or Minivans - No Premium or Specialty Cars allowed for Ages 21-24 Otherwise drivers must be between 25-80 years of age. All fees are taxable.
Credit Card Guarantees
If you have reserved a pay on arrival rental, a credit card guarantee is required in order to reserve a vehicle. This credit card will be validated at the time of reservation and may show a 1.00USD temporary authorization on your credit card statement. However, no actual guarantee fee will be incurred unless the Customer is a No Show; in which case a No Show fee equivalent to a one day rental or a minimum of 50.00USD will be charged to the credit card provided as a guarantee. If your plans change you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same site on which you made your reservation at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. If you reserved a Prepaid (Pay Now) reservation, you will be charged a Booking Fee equivalent to the total charges of your reservation. The Credit Card used for prepayment MUST be presented at the rental counter at time of pick up. This is a non-refundable reservation and may not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or a credit.
Inclusive Rates
Should you purchase our Inclusive Rate Package please note our rate includes the Loss Damage Waiver Theft taxes and Fees. LDW has a zero excess or deductible. NOT included in your rate is the Fuel Underage Drivers Fee Additional Drivers Fee and Special Equipment such as Baby seats and GPS as well as the Supplemental Liability Insurance or any other available option.
Credit/Debit Card
We accept American Express Visa Master Card and Discover card A security deposit will be held at the start of the rental. It will include the estimated amount of the rental plus a deposit. The deposit amount will vary between 300.00USD and 3000.00USD depending on the type of vehicle and duration of rental. Local renters will have a deposit of 500 - 3000USD depending on car type and length of rental. These funds will no longer be available for immediate use and may take up to 30 days - depending on your bank - to become available. We will not be responsible for any returned checks or insufficient fund charges or bank fees related to this process. Debit Cards are NOT an accepted form of payment or qualification. Cash is not accepted for qualification at the time of rental but may be used for payment upon return of the vehicle. A major Credit Card is still required to qualify to rent. Vouchers and prepaid cards are not accepted. For all prepaid rentals - the person who prepaid for the rental must be present with the same credit card in his or her own name that was used to prepay the reservation in order to pick up the rental. There will be a deposit for prepaid rentals. All fees are plus tax.
Legal Notice
NU Car Rentals provides a car rental affiliate reservation system and acts as an agent for the convenience of you the customer and the local owned and operated car rental firm. We use reasonable commercial efforts to insure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other websites. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms, conditions and prevailing law covering the rental shall be those stated on the rental contract presented at the actual rental location.
Additional Information
If you booked a Pay Now Special rate you will be charged in US dollars a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the amount of the rental charges for the reserved period. Charges will appear on your statement as NU Car Rentals Website San Antonio, TX. Additional charges will be collected at rental in local currency A rental day consists of a 24 hour period. Changes to the reservation may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. There are no refunds for early returns. If After hours returns are permitted the renter will be billed to the start of the next business day and is responsible for the rental vehicle until inspected by a company representative. Please inquire at the rental counter for further details. Note there is no shuttle service available outside hours of operation Reservations for multiple vehicles must be made in different names or may not be honored. Smoking in vehicles or returning the vehicle where special cleaning may incur an additional fee per local policy. Makes and models are examples only and are not guaranteed.
