Upon Arrival
NU Car Rentals service is provided in cooperation with Zoom Rent A Car in Calgary. We are located at 11124 36 St NE Unit 2010 in Calgary T3N 1A5. Should you need to contact us please call us at 587-885-8888 or 905-670-7368 and we will be happy to assist you. We hold vehicles up to 2 hours after the arrival time on your reservation during operating hours. KMs are limited to 3000 for the entire rental period and the vehicle may not leave Alberta Province. A limit of 200 km a day up to 4000 km per month applies to local renters and to all customers leaving the province of Alberta. Specialty vehicles may have additional free km restrictions.
Insurance
INSURANCE Proof of rental insurance is required to decline our coverage. DEPOSIT A Security deposit may vary from 500.00 to 1000.00 USD on all standard vehicle rentals. Full size vans,convertibles and luxury SUV 1500.00 USD Excess The renter is responsible for all damage or loss to the rental vehicle. This responsibility may be reduced or eliminated, please inquire at our rental counter.
Special Equipment
Baby seats are available for 9.99CAD per day plus tax. GPS is available for 9.99CAD per day plus tax. Request at the rental counter.
Fuel
The vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as when rented in order to avoid a refueling charge of 25.00CAD plus the cost of the fuel.
One Ways
One way rentals are not allowed.
Geographic Restrict.
The maximum free KMs per contract or per reservation is 3000km as long as the vehicle remains within the Province of rental. If the vehicle travels outside the Province of rental or if you are a local renter you are allowed free kms up to 200km daily 1400 km weekly and 4000 km monthly. Luxury cars are allowed 100 km per day and 12 passenger vans include 150 km per day. Additional kms are .18CAD per km up to fullsize cars and .25CAD per km for Luxury cars and specialty vehicles. Travel out of the Province must be approved at time of rental. An additional charge of 5.00CAD per day will apply to out of the Province travel and 10.00CAD per day for travel to the U.S. Non-authorized travel out of the Province will be fined. Additional fees are taxable. Travel to Mexico is not permitted.
Driver Qualification
All renters must present a valid drivers license and a major credit card in their own name with sufficient credit for the rental charges plus deposit. We accept valid North America and International licenses. All non-residents of Canada must carry their passport. The minimum age for rental is 23. There is a 20.00CAD surcharge for drivers ages 23 and 24. Renters ages 23-24 may rent cars except Luxury models, minivans and SUVs and 21 and over can rent Moving Trucks. Renters 25 and over can rent all models including Luxury models and 12 Passenger Vans. The maximum age to rent is 75 years. Up to 2 additional renters are allowed with a surcharge of 7.99CAD per day per driver. All renters must meet the same requirements as the primary renter. Surcharges-fees are taxable.
Credit Card Guarantees
If you have reserved a pay on arrival rental, a credit card guarantee is required in order to reserve a vehicle. This credit card will be validated at the time of reservation and may show a 1.00USD temporary authorization on your credit card statement. However, no actual guarantee fee will be incurred unless the Customer is a No Show; in which case a No Show fee equivalent to a one day rental or a minimum of 50.00USD will be charged to the credit card provided as a guarantee. If your plans change you can avoid this fee by cancelling your reservation through the same site on which you made your reservation at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled rental time. If you reserved a Prepaid (Pay Now) reservation, you will be charged a Booking Fee equivalent to the total charges of your reservation. The Credit Card used for prepayment MUST be presented at the rental counter at time of pick up. This is a non-refundable reservation and may not be modified. If you do not pick up your rental when scheduled your reservation will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund or a credit.
Inclusive Rates
Should you purchase an Inclusive Rate Package please note that Collision and Theft waivers, as well as Liability, taxes and fees are included in your rate. You will remain responsible for any deductible or excess for Waivers. Deductibles are for - Low Cost LDW, Underage and International Drivers 2000CAD Reduced Respons. 1000CAD Minimal Respons. 500CAD. NOT included in your rate is the Fuel, Underage Drivers Fee, Additional Drivers Fee and special Equipment such as baby seats and GPS, as well as Supplemental Liability Insurance or any other available option.
Credit and Debit
We accept VISA, Master Card, AMEX Credit and Debit Cards, Cash and Diners Club for payment, but we do not accept checks. We accept all major credit cards for security deposit- Visa, MC, AX and Diners. We do not accept Debit Cards, Cash or Checks for deposit. A deposit of a 1000CAD plus the rental amount is required for cars, SUVs and Minivans at the time of pick up. All Luxury car rentals require a minimum of a 3000CAD deposit on a major credit card and specialty vehicles require a 1500CAD deposit. Any bookings made in USD or any other currency and does not indicate total in CAD will have a 3-5 per cent conversion fee charge due to fluctuation of exchange rate. An administration charge not to exceed 100CAD will be charged to the renter in the event of a credit card charge back being proven to be valid to the cardholders issuing bank. Any unpaid tickets or tolls will be charged plus a service charge of 50CAD.
Legal Notice
NU Car Rentals provides a car rental affiliate reservation system and acts as an agent for the convenience of you the customer and the local owned and operated car rental firm. We use reasonable commercial efforts to insure the accuracy of all information posted on our website or distributed to other websites. Our liability, if any, shall be limited to the amount of rental charges paid to us. The terms, conditions and prevailing law covering the rental shall be those stated on the rental contract presented at the actual rental location.
Additional Information
If you booked a Pay Now Special rate you will be charged in US dollars a nonrefundable deposit equivalent to the amount of the rental charges for the reserved period. Charges will appear on your statement as NU Car Rentals Website San Antonio, TX. Additional charges will be collected at rental in local currency A rental day consists of a 24 hour period. Changes to the reservation may result in a change of rate or an additional fee. There are no refunds for early returns. If After hours returns are permitted the renter will be billed to the start of the next business day and is responsible for the rental vehicle until inspected by a company representative. Please inquire at the rental counter for further details. Note there is no shuttle service available outside hours of operation Reservations for multiple vehicles must be made in different names or may not be honored. Smoking in vehicles or returning the vehicle where special cleaning may incur an additional fee per local policy. Makes and models are examples only and are not guaranteed.
